The footwear and accessories retailer inks licensing deal for ready-to-wear clothes with a bohemian flair.

Steven Madden Ltd. is venturing further into the women's realm. The footwear and accessories retailer is designing a women apparel line, which will be licensed and marketed by L'Koral Industries, the companies announced Wednesday.

The line, described as having a bohemian flare, will hit better department stores in spring 2010, and will include trendy items and lot of new fashion trends such as pixie dresses, boyfriend jacket affixed with exposed zippers and hardware details.

Experts view the move as a positive for the financially healthy retailer.This may be the most substantial licensing agreement that Steve Madden has signed to date in terms of being able to deliver a contribution to their earnings,said Jeff Van Sinderen, an analyst with B. Riley. This trendy collection would be wore by catwalk models in a fashion show.

It makes fashion trends work for you and it includes all types of trends like runway also.

Their balance sheet is loaded with cash, and this is a licensing agreement, so Steve Madden won't be taking on inventory risk.Mr. Madden designed a short-lived women apparel collection three years ago, but this will be the first time the company takes on a licensing partner.

L'Koral is known for its success licensing brands such as 7 For All Mankind Denim and Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen's Elizabeth and James collection.You can find so many catwalk models wearing this new fashion trends. Steve Madden, which currently operates 88 of its own retail stores and sells in department stores, has weathered the recession well.
